Games that will shape the end of 2025

If you've been asking yourself 'What games are coming out in the next few months?', well, here's your answer.

October to December is crowded, but a few titles clearly anchor the season. Big service shooters, a prestige horror, Sucker Punch heading to northern Japan and a city-builder by Ubisoft Mainz. Here's everything you need to know.

Ghost of Yōtei

Release date: October 2, 2025
Platforms: PS5
Sucker Punch’s standalone follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima moves the action to 1600s northern Japan with a new lead, Atsu, hunting the Yōtei Six around Mount Yōtei. The combat toolkit adds weapon stances and ranged options suited to harsher terrain, while cinematic modes cater to purists. It opens the season and will pull a large console audience right out of the gate.

Battlefield 6

Release date: October 10, 2025
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC
DICE positions this as a back-to-basics Battlefield built around destruction, scale, and classic roles, with a full campaign and Portal returning. Open betas have focused on large, readable maps and performance.

Little Nightmares III

Release date: October 10, 2025
Platforms: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Switch, Switch 2
Supermassive’s take on the series adds online co-op with Low and Alone navigating Spiral’s carnival horrors and necropolis ruins. The tone remains small-scale and sinister, built for word-of-mouth and creator coverage.

ARC Raiders

Release date: October 30, 2025
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Embark’s free-to-play extraction shooter finally ships. Raids unfold across a war-torn Mediterranean basin with players scavenging while fighting mechanized ARC threats, then escaping with loot or losing it on death. Cross-platform play and UE5 visuals aim squarely at the squad-play crowd.
Why it shapes the season: A polished F2P extraction loop can grab friends fast. If the meta sticks, it will chew up November weekends.

Anno 117: Pax Romana

Release date: November 13, 2025
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Ubisoft Mainz takes its builder to the Roman Empire with provinces like Latium and Albion, city detail at street level, trade and politics, and land and naval combat. Anno games grow over months. Launch timing positions it as the strategy counterprogramming to shooters.
Why it shapes the season: It scratches a different itch. Expect long-tail engagement and strong PC presence right as holidays begin.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Release date: November 14, 2025
Platforms: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC
Treyarch and Raven deliver a co-op campaign at launch, a full multiplayer slate, and round-based Zombies, with day-one Game Pass on Xbox and PC. The series remains a yearly gravity well for player time and platform ecosystems.

Bottom line

October stacks the deck with Ghost of Yōtei on the 2nd, Battlefield 6 and Little Nightmares III on the 10th, and ARC Raiders on the 30th. November turns into a split lane between Anno 117 and Black Ops 7. If even half of these land cleanly, the last few weeks of 2025 will be busy across every platform.
