Will Andrew Garfield play Spider-Man again? What he said on Doomsday, Spider-Verse opening and more

Here is a clean rundown of Garfield’s latest comments about Spider-Man, what he ruled out, what he seems open to, and the realistic odds of seeing him in Secret Wars.

Andrew Garfield on Avengers: Doomsday

Garfield answered a fan question in a GQ video about whether he and Tobey Maguire would appear in Avengers: Doomsday. His reply: “No, unequivocally, f—ing no.” That is as clear as it gets for that specific movie. We all know what happened during his media appearances before 'No Way Home', but we're keen on believing him this time.

Andrew Garfield in Beyond the Spider-Verse?

In fresh interviews tied to his current promo run, Garfield said he would like to be involved with Beyond the Spider-Verse and praised Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Mind you, this was just in response to a question about which crossovers in the MCU he'd be interested in, and he also praised Tom Hardy's Venom and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

Will Andrew Garfield be in Secret Wars?

As often happens with these kind of things, Andrew ducked the questions, and it's still too early anyway. If you cover Marvel, you know Secret Wars is a multiverse event that collides characters from different realities. On the page, Secret Wars stories stitch together alternate worlds and variants, then funnel them into one climactic battle. On screen, that premise gives Marvel room to bring back legacy heroes for short runs or key set pieces, including different Spider-Men. If Marvel wants emotional callbacks to No Way Home, Garfield is an easy fit for a limited appearance or a “one last swing” beat that pays off his Peter Parker’s arc. None of this is confirmed. It is simply how Secret Wars usually functions and why fans keep asking him.

Bottom line

  • He said a hard no to Avengers: Doomsday.

  • He sounds open to Beyond the Spider-Verse.

  • He's open to any crossovers in the MCU. He's praised Tom Hardy's Venom and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

  • Secret Wars questions remain unanswered. The multiverse setup makes a cameo possible, but there is no deal on the record.
